Birdseye Chili Sugar

3.5 oz. Hold on to your hat. This sugar packs a remarkable, bright kick. You can use it in any sort of sweet preparation that lends itself to spiciness: cocktail rims, cookies, brownies, cake frostings, or caramels. A friend of mine loves it in her chai. Pick your method, or, if you aren't sure how, check the Kitchen Imp blog for ideas.

Your sugar comes in a moisture-sealed, screw top tin to keep it fresh. In my recipe for brownies, try substituting 2 teaspoons of the sugar called for with this sugar, or, dust the top of the brownies with this sugar 10 minutes before the cooking time ends.
